Most résumés are filtered by software before a recruiter reads them. These are the things that decide whether yours gets through, and whether it holds attention once it does.
Contact details
Your email and phone number in the text itself. In a header image or a text box, an ATS often cannot see them.
Standard headings
Experience, Education and Skills under their plain names, so the ATS files each part where a recruiter looks for it.
Length
Enough to show your work, short enough to skim: usually one page early in a career, two at most.
Results with numbers
How many of your bullets show an outcome you can count: time, money, users, size.

What is an ATS score?
An estimate of how well an applicant tracking system can read your résumé and how strongly it reads to the recruiter who sees it next. Companies use these systems to sort applications before a person reads them. A score of 75 or more means it is ready to send.
Is this ATS checker really free?
Yes. No account and no card. You can run a few checks an hour. A free BananaJobz account scores your résumé against specific jobs and helps you fix it.
Do you keep my résumé?
No. It is read once to produce your score and then discarded. To read it, the text is sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, which does not use it to train its models. Nothing is saved to an account. If you choose to bring your PDF into a new account, it waits in your own browser and is uploaded only when you continue after signing up.
Why does my PDF show no text?
It is probably a scan or an image. Applicant tracking systems cannot read those either, so export your résumé as a text PDF from Word or Google Docs, or paste the text instead.
Can I check my resume against a job description?
Yes. Choose "Check it against a job description" and paste the posting. You get the same score and fixes, judged for that job, plus up to twelve key words from the posting marked by whether your résumé uses them, matched word for word as a strict ATS filter would.
Is this the same as the Naukri resume score?
No. BananaJobz is not affiliated with Naukri, and no outside tool can show the score a job site gives you. This checks what any applicant tracking system reads: contact details in the text, plain headings, numbers in your results, and the words a posting asks for.
