Salary hike calculator

Your new CTC from a hike percentage, or the hike in a new offer, in lakh and per month. Every number is yours; the page only does the arithmetic.

Work it out

Enter your current CTC and the hike.

CTC is not in-hand pay: variable pay, PF and tax come out of it. Compare offers on the same basis, fixed with fixed. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Questions people ask

How do I calculate a hike percentage?

Subtract your current CTC from the offered CTC, divide by the current CTC, and multiply by 100. From ₹9 lakh to ₹10.5 lakh is (10.5 − 9) ÷ 9 × 100 = 16.7%.

Should I compare CTC or in-hand salary?

Both, but on the same basis. CTC can include variable pay, the employer’s PF and gratuity, which you do not get every month. Compare fixed pay with fixed pay, and variable with variable.

Is a hike asked for or offered?

Both happen. If an offer is below what you need, ask once, politely, with a reason. The salary negotiation guide has the email.

Offer not quite there?

Ask once, politely, with a reason, before you accept.
