How match scores work
Every job in your feed gets a score from 0 to 100 for how well it fits your profile. It is worked out the same way for every job, so two scores can be compared.
First: can you take this job at all?
Before anything is scored, three checks run. A job that fails one is left out of your feed, not scored low:
- Work authorization. A job abroad is shown only if you said you would relocate and the posting offers visa sponsorship.
- Location. “Remote” counts as remote only where you can work: a role that is remote within another country is treated as abroad.
- Language. A posting that requires a language you haven't listed is left out.
That is why your feed can be shorter than a job board's. Your answers in Settings › Account decide what passes.
Then: how well do you fit it?
A job that passes is scored on how your skills line up with what the posting asks for, whether your experience and level match, how close the role is to the one you're after, and whether it moves you where you said you want to go. If you've described how you like to work, that counts too.
Reading the score
- 80 and up — strong match. Your skills and level line up.
- 60 to 79 — good match. Worth applying; the job page shows the gaps.
- Below 60 — fair match. A stretch. Read the gaps before you spend an application on it.
Open a job for the detail: which skills matched, which are missing, and how your resume reads against it.
