Sales, finance, HR, teaching, nursing and core engineering name their skills in ways our count does not read reliably yet, so they are not shown rather than shown wrong.

How to list them

List only what you can show

Every skill on the page should sit in a project, an internship or a course you can talk about. An interviewer picks one and asks you to explain it.

Use the posting’s spelling

Write “Power BI”, not “PowerBI”; “Node.js”, not “Node”. Recruiters search for the exact words, and so does applicant-tracking software.

Group them

Languages, tools, and areas on separate lines read faster than one long row. Eight to twelve is plenty for a fresher.

Show soft skills, don’t list them

“Communication” in a list proves nothing. “Presented our project to 200 people at the college tech fest” does, in a project line.

Drop skill bars and star ratings

“Python ●●●○○” tells a recruiter nothing and an ATS cannot read it. Put the skill in a project instead.

Questions freshers ask

How many skills should a fresher put on a résumé?

Eight to twelve, grouped, and every one backed by something on the page. A list of thirty reads as copied, and each one is a question you might be asked.

Should I add skills I am still learning?

Only if you have used them in something you can show, and then say so: “Docker (used in final-year project)”. Never list a skill you have only watched a video about.

What soft skills should a fresher write?

Write them as proof in your project and internship lines rather than as a list. Teamwork becomes the team size and your part; communication becomes a presentation or a client you dealt with.

Resume ke liye skills Hindi mein: kaun si skills likhein?

Wahi skills likhiye jo job post maang raha hai aur jo aapne sach mein kisi project ya internship mein use ki hain. Unhe English mein, job post ki spelling mein likhiye, jaise “MS Excel”, “Tally Prime”, “SQL”.

Where do these numbers come from?

From 7,488 open job postings in India that BananaJobz collected from licensed job APIs and employers’ public job feeds in the 45 days before 2026-10-18. A percentage is the share of that field’s postings whose requirements name the skill. They cover all experience levels, not only fresher roles.
